Greater Augusta ISSA September 2022 Public Meeting with Michael Edie

Our next Greater Augusta ISSA 3rd Quarter public meeting is Tuesday, September 27th, 2022, featuring Michael Edie. The discussion will be “Collecting Threat Data Using Distributed Deception.” Please join us for this in-person event. Pizza and refreshments will be provided before the discussion. Collecting Threat Data Using Distributed Deception What happens when you deploy honeypots in different geographical locations and then monitor, collect, and analyze the threat data for several years? The Fakelabs Project is a practitioner’s materialization of this idea. This talk will discuss the project’s architecture, observations, automation, derived products, and lessons learned. In addition, there will be demos and suggestions for how defenders can apply the information presented.

He previously served on Digital Forensics and Incident Response (DFIR), threat hunt, and compliance inspection teams. He is the Co-Founder and Executive Director at smashthestack.org, a software vulnerability and exploitation educational platform.
